Ages and Levels
Students of all levels and ages are welcome at Charm City Violin and will be met and challenged at wherever stage of development they are upon arrival. Instruction is traditional, i.e learning to read music and notation as well as learning to play the instrument. I do not teach using the Suzuki method. As a result, students should a be minimum of 7 years of age to begin. Though I do not teach using the Suzuki method, I am happy to work with students looking to transition from Suzuki to traditional learning, including note-reading. Adult students are welcome and celebrated.
Additional opportunities
Performing for and playing with others is an integral, not to mention most rewarding and enjoyable, aspect of instrumental study. Students will given opportunities to participate in periodic recitals, performance classes, play-togethers, and sight-reading sessions. These events may be held in my home studio, at local senior or retirement centers, houses of worship, public spaces, or at CCBC Essex, where I also teach. There is no additional fee for these events. Participation is greatly encouraged.

COVID precautions
At this time, lessons will be held in-person at my home studio. Masks and/or distancing may be requested by the student, family, or teacher as needed. Should circumstances or local guidelines change, lessons will be offered virtually via online platforms.
